Sh.Jamyang TseringNamgyal Member of Parliament from Ladakh call on Railway Minister in Delhi and raised the issue of limited transport connectivity to Ladakh Region. This is especially problematic in the winter since the roads are closed during the winter. Therefore, the Member of Parliament Jamyang Tsering Namgyal has raised the issue of fast tracking of the Bilaspur-Manali-Leh Rail line since the first phase has already been completed.Therefore, he has requested to declare the Bilaspur-Manali-Leh project as a‘National Project’ along with starting the 2nd and the 3rd phase at the earliest.

He has strongly emphasised on taking up the inner railway line as a priority for the Leh-Upshi 51 km line which is a part of the erstwhile sanctioned railway line. This will strongly help in boosting tourism,employment and economy of the area along with the facility for troops and ammunition transport for Indian Army.

Secondly, he has requested to extend the scope of the survey to extend the same railway line from Leh to Beama viaLeh-Phay-Khalsi-Skurbuchan-Beama and inclusion of the same in the blue book of 2019-20.

Thirdly, he has requested for the inclusion of the final location survey from Srinagar-Drass-Kargil-Sankoo-Zanskar-Leh rail line in BlueBook of 2019-20 where the preliminary engineering cum traffic survey has been done. Therefore, he has requested to fast track the process to do the finallocation survey of the railway line.

Lastly, in a pioneering idea has been given by the young Member of Parliament from Ladakh for the full solarization of the inner trainto ensure ecological sustainability and the preservation of the glaciers. The Member of Parliament has noted the effects of climate change and hence,recommended the use of such renewable technologies for this railway project.
